Founding Director, Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence

Marc A. Brackett, PhD, is a prominent psychologist, educator, and author, best known as the founding director of the Yale Center for Emotional Intelligence and a professor in Yale’s Child Study Center. Growing up in New Jersey, his own experiences with emotional struggle and trauma shaped his lifelong mission to help individuals and institutions harness emotional awareness and regulation. He developed RULER, an SEL framework that has reached thousands of schools globally, and has authored Permission to Feel and Dealing With Feeling.
